Should I get a hardwired charger or one with an outlet?
Both are code-compliant when installed correctly. A NEMA 14-50 EV rated outlet gives you flexibility to swap chargers later; hardwiring is what some manufacturers, including Tesla, recommend for their higher-amperage chargers. We'll walk you through which fits your charger and setup.
How much does EV charger installation cost?

Yes — we install both options. An interlock kit plus a power inlet box lets you plug in your portable generator and manually choose which circuits to run each time you flip them on. A transfer switch panel is a step up: we move a set of circuits you choose into their own small subpanel, so when the generator's running, everything in that panel is automatically covered — no picking circuits, no guessing whether you're overloading it. Which one makes sense depends on how hands-on you want to be during an outage versus just flipping one switch and knowing it's handled.
